Variegated Astrophytum Asterias, also known as the variegated star cactus, is a highly popular succulent. It belongs to the cactus family and is known for its unique appearance and attractive patterns.

Appearance

Shape: The variegated star cactus typically has a flattened spherical or disc shape, with a diameter of about 5-10 cm.

Color: Its surface features variegated patterns with various colors, including green, yellow, white, and light brown patches.

Spines: It usually has no spines or very few small ones, giving it a smooth surface.

Flowers: This cactus produces beautiful flowers, usually yellow or orange in color.

Growing Conditions

Light: The variegated star cactus requires plenty of sunlight, at least 4-6 hours daily. It grows best on a south-facing windowsill or a spot with abundant sunlight.

Temperature: The optimal growth temperature is between 15-25°C (59-77°F), and it should be kept above 10°C (50°F) in winter.

Soil: It prefers well-draining soil. Use cactus-specific soil or a mix of sand and peat.

Watering: Water when the soil is completely dry, avoiding overwatering. Increase watering frequency slightly during the growing season.
